I have made history in the most significant competitions. Perhaps this is the right year for that, but people are free to vote based on their perceptions.”
Mbappe also expressed confidence in his own capabilities but recognizes that the final decision rests with the journalists who cast their votes.

Previously, his highest placing in the Ballon d’Or voting was third in 2023 while he was still with Paris Saint-Germain, but he did not secure the top honor then. “I’ve always regarded myself as the best in the world, but everyone has their own opinions. Some may think differently. It’s not a debate that needs to happen,” Mbappe stated. “This year could be a significant moment for me to win the Ballon d’Or. However, the voters are journalists.”

Harry Kane stands out as a favorite, having scored 61 goals in 51 matches for Bayern Munich and winning a domestic double.
