Southampton produced another statement performance at St Mary’s Stadium as they swept aside Bristol City 4-1 in the Championship, with Cyle Larin once again taking centre stage by scoring twice.
The Canadian striker continued his remarkable start to the campaign with goals in both halves, while Kuryu Matsuki and Finn Azaz added late strikes to turn a competitive encounter into a convincing victory for the Saints. Lorent Tolaj briefly gave Bristol City hope after Southampton had established a two-goal advantage, but the hosts responded emphatically during the closing stages.
The result continued Southampton’s perfect home record in the league this season and extended their unbeaten Championship run to six matches. The Saints have now scored 15 goals across their four home league fixtures, underlining their attacking strength at St Mary’s.

His goals against Bristol City also illustrated two different sides of his finishing ability.
The opener was a composed technical finish from distance, requiring quality and confidence. The second demonstrated his awareness and sharpness inside the penalty area.
That combination makes Larin difficult for defenders to handle.
