Juventus are once again enduring a disappointing campaign in the 2025/2026 season, with their struggles in front of goal proving to be the defining issue of their year. After losing only four matches in the previous season, the Bianconeri have now fallen outside the Serie A top four, largely due to an underperforming attack that has failed to deliver consistent results.

Under Luciano Spalletti, Juventus ultimately finished sixth, missing out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League—a major setback for a club with high European ambitions.

Lack of Goals Becomes Juventus’ Biggest Problem

The core issue for Juventus this season has been their lack of clinical finishing. None of their forwards have been able to provide the consistent goal output required to compete at the highest level.

Jonathan David managed just eight goals across the campaign, while Dusan Vlahovic scored 10. Even Kenan Yildiz, often deployed in advanced roles, contributed only 11 goals. These numbers are far below what is expected from a title-contending side in Serie A.

As a result, Juventus are now actively exploring the transfer market in search of a reliable striker who can transform their attacking output.

Robert Lewandowski Emerges as a Surprise Option

One of the most intriguing names linked with Juventus is Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is expected to leave Barcelona when his contract expires this summer, making him available on a free transfer.

Despite being 37 years old, Lewandowski remains highly effective in front of goal. He scored 19 goals this season for Barcelona, a tally that surpasses any Juventus forward this year.

Serie A has also recently proven to be a favorable league for experienced strikers, with several veteran forwards continuing to perform at a high level in Italy. Lewandowski’s elite positioning, movement, and finishing ability are seen as qualities that could immediately improve Juventus’ attacking efficiency.

For Juventus, who desperately need a proven penalty-box finisher, the Barcelona star represents a low-risk, high-impact solution.

Igor Jesus Offers Power and Mobility

Another option being monitored by Juventus is Igor Jesus of Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian forward has enjoyed a strong season in England, scoring 16 goals across all competitions.

His impact in European competition has been particularly notable, with seven of those goals coming during Nottingham Forest’s run to the Europa League semi-finals. This form has significantly increased his market value in recent months.

Igor Jesus was signed from Botafogo for around £10 million (approximately Rp220 billion), but his rapid development in the Premier League has made him one of the more interesting attacking prospects on the market.

Unlike Lewandowski, Igor Jesus brings pace, strength, and high-intensity pressing. He is capable of holding up play and creating space for teammates, making him a more dynamic but less clinical option.

However, questions remain over whether he has the consistency required to be a top-level goalscorer in Serie A.

Gonzalo García Viewed as a Long-Term Investment

A third name on Juventus’ radar is Gonzalo García of Real Madrid. The young Spanish striker first gained attention during last year’s FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored four goals in six appearances, including one against Juventus.

Since then, however, García has struggled to secure regular playing time due to competition from Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid. Even so, he still managed to score eight goals this season despite limited minutes, including a standout hat-trick against Real Betis in January.

At just 22 years old, García is seen as a developmental project with high potential. Juventus could offer him a more prominent role as a starting striker—similar to how the club previously developed Álvaro Morata after bringing him from Real Madrid.

Juventus Must Act Quickly in the Transfer Market

With their attacking problems clearly exposed, Juventus are under pressure to make decisive moves in the upcoming summer transfer window. Whether they choose a proven veteran like Lewandowski, a physically strong forward like Igor Jesus, or a young talent like Gonzalo García, the need for reinforcements is urgent.

Without a significant upgrade in the striker position, Juventus risk facing another season of underwhelming performances and continued struggles in front of goal.
