Despite having players capable of making a difference in the final third, the visitors failed to consistently test the Hull defence. Their attacking moves often broke down before developing into clear goalscoring opportunities.
Rooney believes that issue should concern the coaching staff heading into the next fixture.
“They didn’t create enough chances either, and for me, that’s the biggest concern for this team at the moment,” he added.

“When you play against a promoted team, you know you’re going to face a difficult game. Playing away from home in the first match of the season, I don’t think United looked ready for the game,” Rooney stated.

Manchester United’s inability to match Hull City’s energy and determination could suggest that the team still has significant work to do before it can consistently compete at the required level.
