Several major clubs made strong starts to the league phase, with Bayern Munich and Manchester United both recording convincing victories. However, the biggest surprise came from Como, who produced a stunning 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in their first-ever Champions League appearance.
Bayern were ruthless against Bodo/Glimt, winning 5-0 at the Allianz Arena, while Manchester United marked their return to Europe’s premier competition with a 4-0 victory over Sabah FK.

Como needed just 15 minutes to open the scoring. Martin Baturina finished a well-worked combination with Tasos Douvikas to put the hosts in front.

This time, Douvikas found the net to give Como a two-goal cushion.

Lens completed the most dramatic comeback of the night against Slavia Prague.
The Czech side took the lead through Danijel Sturm before Abdallah Sima equalised for Lens.
Florian Thauvin then put the visitors ahead, but Sturm struck again to make it 2-2.
