Leeds United have opened discussions with Manchester City over a potential transfer for England goalkeeper James Trafford as they seek to secure a new long-term first choice between the posts.
The Yorkshire club have moved into a strong position in the race for the 23-year-old, who is considering leaving Manchester City in search of regular Premier League football. Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also shown interest during the summer, but Leeds are currently believed to have made the most significant progress.

Manchester City are open to considering a sale because Trafford is unlikely to begin the new campaign as their established number one.
