Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr as uncertainty continues to surround Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford.
United are believed to have enquired about Sarr’s availability after the Senegal international delivered an outstanding season for Palace. The 28-year-old has emerged as one of several attacking options under consideration, although reports indicate that the club have not yet submitted a formal offer or entered advanced negotiations.
Any serious pursuit could depend heavily on what happens with Rashford.
The England forward has returned to Manchester United following his loan spell at Barcelona, but his long-term position in Michael Carrick’s squad remains unclear. Barcelona chose not to activate their purchase option, leaving United to decide whether Rashford should be reintegrated, sold permanently or allowed to leave through another temporary arrangement.
Sarr would offer Premier League experience, speed, direct running and the ability to operate across the front line. However, Crystal Palace are unlikely to welcome an approach for one of their most influential players, particularly after he enjoyed the best campaign of his club career.
The situation has therefore created an intriguing transfer equation. Manchester United admire Sarr, the player is reportedly open to the opportunity, and Carrick could use another dynamic attacker. Yet the club may need clarity on Rashford before committing significant resources to another winger.

Sarr’s performances showed that he could influence knockout matches rather than merely produce against weaker opposition.
He combined pace with improved composure and became increasingly reliable in front of goal.
Those developments are important because finishing had previously been one of the inconsistent parts of his game. Sarr always possessed the speed to reach dangerous positions, but his final decision or shot did not always match the quality of his movement.
