Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams as the club continues searching for additional reinforcements in the centre of the pitch.
The United States international has emerged as one of several names being assessed by the Old Trafford recruitment team. His Premier League experience, defensive intensity and tactical flexibility appear to make him an attractive option as United attempt to construct a midfield capable of competing across a demanding domestic and European campaign.
Reports have placed Adams alongside other midfielders under consideration, including Bournemouth teammate Alex Scott, West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes, Fulham’s Sander Berge and Roma’s Manu Koné. United’s interest has not yet developed into a confirmed transfer agreement, but the American’s profile appears to fit many of the qualities the club are seeking.
Adams would not necessarily arrive as the most glamorous name on United’s list. However, he could offer something equally valuable: Premier League readiness, positional discipline and the ability to provide balance behind more creative teammates.
Some reports suggest Bournemouth could consider offers in the region of £35 million to £45 million. The exact valuation remains uncertain, and the Cherries are in a strong negotiating position because Adams remains an important member of their squad.
That combination of affordability and proven English top-flight experience may explain why United continue to monitor his situation.
United Continue to Reshape Their Midfield
Manchester United’s midfield has become a major focus of the club’s recruitment strategy. The team have already made significant changes during the current transfer window. United officially announced the arrival of Youri Tielemans, while Andrey Santos has also been integrated into the squad as part of a wider attempt to refresh the centre of the team.

A modern midfield must perform several roles simultaneously. It must protect the defence, resist pressure, circulate possession and provide support in attacking areas. Injuries or suspensions can quickly disrupt that balance, especially when a team is competing several times per week.
United therefore need players with complementary qualities.
Tielemans can provide passing range, experience and creativity. Santos offers energy, technical ability and long-term potential. Adams would bring a more defensive and disruptive presence.
