Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over the permanent transfer of Ferran Torres, bringing the Spanish forward closer to the end of his spell at Camp Nou.
According to SPORT and several anonymous sources close to PSG, negotiations between the two clubs have progressed significantly. The transfer is now understood to be waiting for the completion of the final formalities before Torres can officially begin a new chapter of his career in Paris.
PSG are reportedly prepared to pay €50 million in guaranteed transfer fees, with a further €5 million available through performance-related bonuses. If the full package is eventually triggered, Barcelona could recover almost all of the money they invested when signing Torres from Manchester City in late 2021.
The proposed transfer represents an important financial opportunity for Barcelona, particularly as the Catalan giants continue to deal with financial restrictions and the challenges imposed by Financial Fair Play regulations.
PSG Push Through to Sign Ferran Torres
PSG’s interest in Torres became increasingly serious after the French champions identified the 26-year-old as a potential addition to their attacking department.
The Ligue 1 giants initially submitted an offer on Monday, but Barcelona rejected the first proposal. Rather than abandoning the negotiations, PSG returned with an improved bid, eventually bringing the two clubs closer to an agreement.
The latest proposal appears to have satisfied Barcelona’s valuation of the player, allowing negotiations to move toward their final stage.
Once the remaining paperwork and contractual details are completed, Torres is expected to officially leave Barcelona and complete his permanent move to PSG.
The French club’s interest in the forward reportedly dates back to the World Cup. PSG are believed to have presented Torres with an attractive sporting project in which he would have a meaningful role rather than simply serving as a backup option.
That prospect could prove particularly important for Torres, who has wanted greater consistency and responsibility in his career.
Barcelona Previously Considered Keeping Torres
Before PSG stepped forward with a serious offer, Barcelona had not completely ruled out extending Torres’ stay at the club.
His current contract at Camp Nou runs until June 30, 2027, and Barcelona had previously considered opening discussions over a new deal.

PSG’s proposal eventually provided that opportunity.
From Barcelona’s perspective, selling Torres for a package potentially worth €55 million would represent a significant financial boost while also allowing the club to restructure its attacking options.
Ferran Torres’ Barcelona Career
Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City at the end of 2021, arriving with a reputation as one of Spain’s most talented attacking players.
During his time at Camp Nou, he made 207 appearances and scored 65 goals, while also helping Barcelona claim three La Liga titles.
His versatility was one of his biggest strengths. Torres could operate as a centre-forward, on either wing or in a more flexible attacking role. That ability made him a useful option for different tactical systems.
His career with the Spanish national team also produced memorable moments.
