Patrick Bamford Debut

Patrick Bamford originally signed for Nottingham forest in 2011 but left the club for a 1.5 million transfer to Chelsea. At Nottingham Forest, Bamford managed to net 27 goals in 34 games with a return of a plan almost every game. The player signed a 5-year contract and stayed with the club for years but did not play for the club. Bamford never wore the Chelsea jersey and had 0 matches to his name at Chelsea’s end.

Loans

During his time at Chelsea, Bamford was loaned out to several Premier League and Premiership clubs such as MK Dons, Derby, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Norwich, and Burnley. At MK Dons, Patrick scored 18 goals in 37 appearances which is a goal every two games, which wasn’t bad for the youngster. The following season, Bamford moved to Derby and scored 8 in 21 appearances. The next season (2014), he moved to Middlesbrough on another loan move, scored 19 goals in the season, and made 38 appearances. The following season, Premier League teams such as Palace wanted to sign the player on loan for the season, and Palace managed to sign Bamford for a year. However, the contract was cut short after six months because the player felt he wasn’t getting enough playing time in the first team. As a result, Bamford made just six appearances for Palace and scored 0 goals. The last team to sign Bamford on loan from Chelsea was Burnely for the 2016 season in the Premier League, but the contract was terminated before its due date.

Sell To Middlesborough

Middlesborough decided to make a permanent move for Bamford and signed him from Chelsea in 2017. At the time, Middlesborough managed to get promoted to the Premier League and signed Bamford on a deal worth 5.5 million Pounds. Unfortunately for Bamford and Boro, the team was relegated to the Championship by the end of the season. Nevertheless, for the next season, Bamford managed to score 13 goals in a little under 50 matches for the club in the English Football League.

Leeds United

In 2018, Leeds United football club announced the signing of Bamford for between 7-10 million Pounds making him Leeds’s most expensive signing in the past decade and a half. The player managed to net ten goals in more than twice as many games in an injury-riddled season. For the next two seasons, Bamford and Leeds United played in the Championship and earned a promotion to the Premier League and Marcelo Bielsa. The season Leeds United won the promotion was their first return to the big stage in more than 15 years, and Bamford scored 16 goals for the club.

The following season Bamford and Leeds United managed to establish themselves as Premier League regulars and not underdogs with a decent mid-table finish towards the end of the season. The Leeds United player has 14 goals in 31 appearances in the Premier League this season and is competing with the likes of Harry Kane and Salah for the EPL Golden boot award.
